Doorway Flash by John Wilson

Doorway Flash Entry
by John Wilson

Centuries old Spanish mission with no roof, walls crumbling, windows now just rough holes in stone. No sills or shutters remain. Wind moans inside. Bell tower and Cross still stand high, but losing. Mission front a facade, a stage set deserted. Heavy oaken door, sacred dust now.

The doorway remains, and will.

Sculptured, sealed and polished smooth by countless hands of old, young, rich and poor.

Royal peasantry rubbing the frame to the smooth burled hardness of the Everlasting.
